Akira Sushi was found in 2001. The owner is specialized in Japanese cuisine. Since 1987, he had been trained by a renowned Japanese cuisine master in the Hotel Otani, a five star franchised Hotel. As a professional chef with more than twenty years of experiences, he has explored and imported different fresh ingredients for his customers. With his commitment for excellence, he not only seeks for the best ingredients, he has also innovated many impressive new dishes. With the concept of a healthy lifestyle in mind, he was the first to create black rice sushi, which has been loved by Vancouverites. Akira Sushi has been complimented as a germ in the Vancouver West End Neighborhood.
  Black rice is one of the sever al lack colored heirloom plants. Black rice turns into blackish purple when cooked. This grain is high in dietary fibre with a deep, nutty taste.
